Baby Showers, An Evolving Tradition Nowadays, baby showers include men, which led to a departing from the old school baby showers of times passed. Being a man, I rarely go to baby showers. Not if I can help it. On those rare occassions that I did, I found nothing at all relating to babies but instead found discussions relating to camera brands and models, off-color jokes, lots of drinks and nibbleables, music, and again, discussions of the pros and cons of different day care centers and kindergarten schools.

Oh Look! A Baby! Mother's get to hear that a lot. Sometimes it's "hi baby", or "hello baby". Then there's the mushy "hewo there widdle babywaybee poo". No matter the words of the greeting, it's all about the baby. Friends would even visit just to get a peek at your "widdle wascal". But what if "widdle wascal" or "widdle babywaybee poo" is sleeping?

Goo Goo The fascinating thing about seeing someone seeing a baby up close is the way people's eyes travel to the hands and feet of the baby. Everyone is tuned in to this attraction whenever a baby is close bye. It gets even more interesting when the baby flexes those hands and fingers and moves the feet around. We are drawn to them like moths to a flame. No questions asked. Is there a rational explanation? Perhaps, perahps not.
